Now serving more Scouts!
The Yocona Area Council and Pushmataha Area Council voting members have met and cast their votes to merge into a new council serving the combined 22 counties of Northeast Mississippi! This is a merge of two good councils that will provide more opportunities for Scouts to join and participate in strong Scouting programs.
What does this mean?
- District Events and Council Events will continue
- Unit Numbers will remain the same
- Each council’s Order of the Arrow lodge will continue to operate separately for 2022
- No Camps are being Sold
- Service Center and Scout Shop is located in Tupelo, Mon-Fri 9 AM-5 PM
What will change?
- The combined (and temporary) council is the Yocona-Pushmataha Council.
- The merged council will be selecting a new name to represent the entire new council
- There will be a new Council Shoulder Patch
- Calendars will have to be adjusted to merge activities. There will be more activities.
- We are increasing to four districts: Apilachi, Chicksa, Jacinto and Pushmataha.
- Additional camping property for units to use
